2024 is just around the corner and for Sassa beneficiaries, a new month means another Sassa grant payment on it’s way. Sassa has released the 2024 payment schedule for the R350 grant.
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant was introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic to assist those who were unemployed and had no alternative source of income. Now, the grant has been extended a few times with it coming to an end in 2025.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) is responsible for disbursing the grant which sees beneficiaries receive R350 per month. Sassa has since revealed the Sassa SRD grant payment dates for 2024.
Here are the SRD grant payment dates for 2024, so far.
SRD Grant Payment Schedule For 2024
- January 2024: Payment period from 25 January 2024 to 31 January 2024
- February 2024: Payment period from 23 February 2024 to 29 February 2024
- March 2024: Payment period from 25 March 2024 to 29 March 2024
During the designated payment week, Sassa encourages beneficiaries to check their Sassa status on the SRD website to determine the exact date when their Sassa grant payment will be deposited into their bank accounts.
The agency also reminds grant recipients that it typically takes approximately 2-3 working days for the funds to appear in their bank accounts after the payment has been processed.
It’s important to note that the Sassa grant payment department does not pay grants on public holidays or weekends, with SRD grants being paid during the last week of the month. This essentially means that if this time of the month is on a weekend or public holiday, the grant will be paid on the next weekday, as per the payment schedule.
SRD grant payments are made during the final week of the month after Sassa completed various verification checks. These verification checks seek to ensure only deserving individuals receive SRD grant payments.
