A fake job ad for Sassa has been posted online by the South African Social Security Agency.A fake job advertisement circulating on social media recently falsely claimed that Sassa would hire 100 000 people in 2022, according to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa). Individuals between the ages of 16 and 35 are encouraged to apply for this ‘Sassa Vacancy’ advertised in the advertisement.
Sassa Sends Strong Warning To South Africans
In a statement, Sassa clarified that this is a fake and has nothing to do with the Agency. Applicants and beneficiaries are discouraged from clicking on the link, entering personal information, or sharing it with others. Sassa says it advertises all job openings in national newspapers and on its website.
Scammers may use confidential information for other criminal purposes if an individual applies for jobs at Sassa advertised in this way. On Sassa’s website: www.sassa.gov.za, there is a tab for Vacancies that allows you to see what jobs are available in each province across the country.

A recent message from Sassa reads “Please note that the below advert is FAKE and does not come from SASSA. All SASSA vacancies are advertised on national newspapers or the agency’s website (http://sassa.gov.za ) only.”
So How to Apply for Sassa Vacancies?
To apply for Sassa Vacancies go to the Sassa website and click on the careers page.
Step 1: Go to https://www.sassa.gov.za/Pages/vacancies.aspx
Step 2: Look at the available job advertisements
Step 3: Open the link with the job title you are interested in. A PDF document will open with full information about the post or positions.
Step 4: View the details on the document.
Step 5: Check how applications shall be sent. Usually an email address will be listed for applications to be sent to.
Step 6: Send your applications via the email address provided.

Applicants interested in applying for these Sassa posts should send their applications (CV, fully completed signed new Z83) quoting the relevant reference number and position name as per the advert.
The subject heading of the email should indicate the reference number and name of the post you are applying for. Applicants must ensure that they send their applications to the correct email indicated on the position. Applications sent to the incorrect email will not be considered.
