SRD Sassa Application – How To Apply For The Sassa R350 SRD Grant

If you want to receive the SASSA SRD Grant you need to make an application to be approved before the R350 payments can start. There are a number of ways to apply for the SRD grant in an effort it to make it available to more people.

The South Africa Social Security Agency manages grants and allowances for groups in South African society needing assistance.

Social Relief of Distress Grant

This includes grants for children, the older persons grants and disability grants. SASSA also manages the R350 grant for the social relief of distress during the Covid-19 crisis. The SRD R350 grant was intended for temporary assistance during Covid, but it has been extended to continue until at least March 2024.

Sassa Payments

SASSA payments can be paid through a bank account, through your SASSA card, through a Post Office or through CashSend. Your SASSA SRD R350 grant is there to assist you with your basic needs.

Elegibility Criteria For The Sassa R350 SRD Grant

The Sassa SRD R350 Grant is available to you if you are a South African Citizen but also for asylum seekers, Lesotho exemption permit dispensation, Zimbabwe exemption permit dispensation and if you are a permanent resident.

Social Grant Payments Into Your Bank Account

If you have a bank account with any of the major banks the social relief of distress R350 grant, and other social grants can be paid into this account. You should run a Sassa status check to confirm the status of your Sassa account.
