Are you unsure of how to track your application status? Well, here is how you can check your July 2023 grant status.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) provides unemployed individuals over the age of 18 with financial assistance in the form of the Special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. Beneficiaries should not receive any other form of income to be eligible for the grant.
Once applications have been submitted, applicants are allowed to track their application status. There are various methods applicants may use to track their application status.
Applicants may use the following methods to check their SRD grant status as well as their application status for any other Sassa grant. SRD grant applicants may check their application status online.
How To Check Your Status Online
- Visit the SASSA SRD grant website.
- Scroll down to ‘Application status’.
- Select ‘Click here to check online’.
- Fill in the required fields
- You should then be able to see the status of your R350 grant application.
Applicants may also check their SRD grant status using WhatsApp as follows:
- Add the Sassa WhatsApp number to your contacts: 082 046 8553.
- Open WhatsApp and send a message to the Sassa number that says “Status” followed by your ID number.
These methods allow applicants to see if their grant application has been approved or declined. If applicants feel that their application was unfairly declined, they may lodge an appeal.
Due to millions of applications being processed at once, the application system may take some time to provide applicants with their application status.
Sassa reminds applicants that all applicants are treated as new applicants every month. However, each applicant would only need to apply once for their application to be considered every month.
